Digital Photos

If you would like to submit a photo of a man who was lost on duty while serving in the U.S. Submarine Force, one common option is to have the photo scanned (digitalized), then attached to an email sent to us at info@OnEternalPatrol.com.  If you do not have access to a scanner, scanning and email services are often available at places such as Kodak, Kinko's, Office Depot, or Office Max.  You may also wish to check into local schools, public offices, or veteran's organizations for scanning options.

If you would like some specific technical information, here it is:
We are capable of using nearly all regular digital formats (such as jpg, gif, tif, eps, png, pdf, psd, bmp, and so on).  If you can choose the resolution of the scan, please select 200 dpi or higher.  If the resultant file size of the photo is too large for you to send in an email, you may choose a lower resolution.

Digital photos may also be placed on a disc or thumb drive and mailed to us at the address at the bottom of this page.

Print Photos

If you would prefer to send in the photos and/or information by regular mail, please use the address at the bottom of this page.  If you would like the materials to be returned, let us know, and they will be scanned and promptly sent back to you.  Please do not forget to include your return address.

Donated Material

All materials that you wish us to keep will be placed in the archives of the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum (formerly known as the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park), located on the shores of Pearl Harbor, next to the Arizona Memorial Visitor Center.  The archives are open by appointment to family and friends of our honored submariners, and to qualified historians.

Photo Retouching and Colorizing

Many photos may require restoration, cropping, and resizing, and some will look better in color.  It is unnecessary for photo donors to have such work done at a commercial shop.  We can do all photo editing before placing the photo on the personal memorial page.

If you would like to see samples of work done on a few submitted photos, please view our Example Photos page.
